|Marketplace 29 A.D. in 2011|
Welcome to Marketplace 29 A.D., where walking through an alley in downtown takes you back to the first century, when Jesus was growing up in a traditional Jewish family. In an effort to make that part of history real for children, local churches are working together to make the second annual event happen.
You can learn more about the sights and sounds of last year's marketplace as well as read testimonies from volunteers. Registration also is open for this year's event, which will be from Oct. 8-12, 2012, which is Murray and Calloway County schools' Fall Break.
Marketplace 29 A.D. is from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 8-11 and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12. For the Friday night session, participants are invited to bring their families to meet their tribe leaders, experience the alley, and hear about their week. The event takes place in the alley behind Murray Family Church and between First Baptist and First Methodist churches. Children are signed in and out at First United Methodist's gymnasium.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED before Sept. 30. You can learn more about registration here.
